The tall elephant in the picture is made with:

  • 90g of grey Stylecraft Special DK in 1203 Silver
  • 10g of black Stylecraft Special DK in 1002 Black
  • One pair of 6 mm safety eyes
  • One small piece of metal wire
  • About 130g polyester stuffing
  • One 2.75 (size C) crochet hook
  • One thin sewing needle

If you use these materials the amigurumi will be 25 cm tall (about 9.8 inches). However, you can make the pattern with any type and weight of yarn (just be sure to adjust the hook size to the yarn you are using). The materials mentioned above are simply a recommendation in case you would like to make the exact same amigurumi. There is no limit to your creativity!

What a great pattern! This is the first pattern I’ve ever purchased and I have to say it was worth it! Very clear instructions and a great result. I opted for a little bow tie as opposed to the top hat because I wanted to use the colors of the matching blanket I made. My one suggestion for anyone looking to make this item is to make sure you really pack the stuffing in! I wanted the head to be a little softer because this is for a baby, but as a result its head was not fully stretched to capacity and the ears just wouldn’t fit on (they were too big to look right)! I spent the morning pulling extra stuffing in through the space between stitches so that the ears would fit. Stuff those heads, guys!

  22. Melon

Super cute patten!! Really easy to follow and not too complicated to get a great finished product!! The patten does call for wire in the trunk but as my finished products are destined to end up in infant hands I left it out but it doesn’t seem to have effected the finished result too much! I’ve made three now, all different sizes by simply changing yard and hook size!! Looking forward to trying some other patterns from same seller!!

  23. bubblesbenson

  24. Abigail Brown

    Super easy pattern to follow!

  25. Kelly Rothe

I made his little hat red and I added the bow to make him a proper gentleman lol. The only problem I had was that I couldn’t figure out how your arms were so long in your pictures but on my lil guy he’s got little stubs. I guess I could’ve messed up the pattern somehow?or maybe they just need stretching. Regardless, he’s still adorable and I love him

  26. Mallory

Would be nice if the description had mentioned needing wire to shape the trunk, but otherwise a fantastic pattern and easy to follow!

So cute, making this today for a baby shower….elephant themed nursery for a little girl so of course I will add a flower instead of the hat…and a rattle inside! Well written and easy pattern to follow!
